Panelists and newly named SFC Ambassadors Thom Filicia

Libby Langdon and Corey Damen Jenkins will join moderator Erika Heet, of Interiors magazine, to discuss both environmental and racial justice and the value of industry participation in finding solutions to both.
During the talk, the designers will highlight their perspectives on the impact of and potential for the home furnishings industry to be part of healing and serving in both causes.
As part of the event, participants will also review how the furnishings industry is linked to a long list of challenges like deforestation, unmitigated use of harmful chemicals, forced labor, waste proliferation, government policies informed by systemic racism and more.
“We invite all in the furniture industry to learn how even small steps taken will lead to meaningful outcomes,” said Susan Inglis, SFC executive director.
“Our work is to educate, and also to communicate opportunities.
Industry wide, we encourage leadership needed for establishing a more ecological and egalitarian model in the pursuits of environmental and racial justice.” The webinar is open to all industry professionals, including product manufacturers, retailers, designers, suppliers, transportation and logistics companies.
